From Jamaica with Love!
Ronnie’s Ribs serves some of the most incredible Jamaican and jerk (barbecue) food in the Greater Baton Rouge area and it also is probably one of the best kept secrets as well, except for the countless regulars who have been coming to Ronnie’s to enjoy the most delicious Caribbean food in Louisiana since 1999. Born and raised in Jamaica, Ronnie is the real thing from her cool Jamaican ascent to the incredibly delicious Jamaican cuisine that she prepares and serves every day in her restaurant. Ronnie learned to cook at a very early age and she learned to prepare the most delicious traditional Jamaican recipes from the very best cooks in her country namely her Mother and Grandmother. They taught her everything about the amazing recipes that have been handed down for generations. Ronnie is also a very talented and accomplished culinary expert herself who has been cooking, creating and masterfully preparing all kinds of food for many years. Ronnie specializes in the wonderful and flavorful foods of the islands which are her claim to fame so to speak. Ronnie and her cooking are both truly authentic nothing fake here , she prepares and cooks everything from scratch using only the very freshest and best of everything , like the aromatic spices, fresh meats and vegetables that she combines perfectly, to create the most magnificent Jamaican buffet. Did I mention that Ronnie serves the best tasting, most incredible ribs in town, so move over TJ and taste something truly fantastic? Ronnie’s Ribs are so awesome that she even named her restaurant after them. You definitely have to try Ronnie’s restaurant in keeping with us Louisianan’s love for great food. After you eat at Ronnie’s place there is only on thing left to do , and that is to say “ I-Ree Mon “ which means everything is alright, it’s cool, it’s great because nothing better describes Ronnie’s Ribs better than the Jamaican saying “I Ree Mon”. Jamaican cuisine has a lot of different ethnic influences, it includes a variety and mixture of cooking techniques, flavors, spices and influences from around the world. The cooking is also influenced by crops introduced into the island from tropical Southeast Asia. Whatever the origin the Jamaicans must have the credit for putting it all together. Many Jamaican dishes are variations on the cooking styles brought to the island from elsewhere; they were often modified to incorporate local produce and spices. What is jerk? It is a distinctly Jamaican style of barbecued meat and chicken which is now one of the most popular Jamaican foods worldwide, and you can sample some of the very best jerk at Ronnie’s Ribs. Are you ready yet? Ronnie is waiting to greet you and serve you some of the most wonderful food you will ever eat, bring the entire family because the kids will love it and everyone will find their favorite dishes. May I suggest to sample a small amount of everything so as not to miss out on any of the fabulous food. |

Delicious spicy flavors all go towards creating these delightful dishes. Jamaican Food originates from an island culture full of history, heritage, and people from all parts and corners of the world. The Menu at Ronnie’s Ribs is Instantly Intriguing!
The soul and spice of Jamaica still shapes chef-owner Ronnie while cooking at this tiny Baton Rouge gem. She weaves the Caribbean's brilliant fusion of European, African and East Indian tastes along with her own inventive twists into an imaginative style. She's found people are easily won over once they have a taste, this is the main reason for the buffett. Given the average American’s trepidation or even fear of spiciness associated with jerk, the buffett gives diners a varied selection to try before ordering off the menu. Neighborhood regulars, and first time visitors always agree that this "Jerk Master", appeals to everyone who tastes these savory and satisfying dishes. Ronnie offers menu items that are hot and some that are not. The meats are so tender, falling apart with the slightest touch of the fork, and the flavor is amazing. While the chicken is solid and the pork is not to be missed, the beef has a blend of sweet spice that is downright addicting. Many of Ronnie's meats are seared in olive oil with jerk seasoning, chicken, pork & beef dishes offer a blast of ginger and an herb-y under-note of Jamaican thyme that fills your mouth with unrelenting waves of sweet-salty heat. With the Caribbean-inspired food in a colorful, tropical-themed environment one will find the atmosphere is great, the food is superb, and the service is outstanding at Ronnie's. |

Ronnie's Shaken Jamaican!
Ronnie has been creating and experimenting with food, flavors and spices for so long it was only a matter of time before she would develop her very own spice line called Shaken Jamaican, she has created a few different blends which are incredibly delicious and truly remarkable because they are all low salt and definitely no MSG, she has a fantastic seafood seasoning blend which is dynamite on any kind of fish, shrimp or any other seafood. The regular blend or simply spice blend is also incredible and you can use it on virtually anything you can eat, if it’s food and tastes good Ronnie’s seasoning will make it better. Shakin Jamaican contains a variety of spices and herbs which are perfectly and masterfully blended together along with some wonderful island spices in just the correct formula to create something totally unique and delicious. This magnificent blend of flavor will tease and tantalize your taste buds in a very special way, you can pick up Ronnie’s special spices at her restaurant or you can buy them at any Louisianan Whole Foods Store, they are also available in many other local groceries around town and will soon be available everywhere great food is sold, I know of a few local restaurants that are already using Ronnie’s Shakin Jamaican and it won’t be long before everyone knows about Ronnie’s Shakin Jamaican spice line. |

Jamaican Food in a Laid Back Atmosphere!
Ronnie's Ribs isn't some fancy place where you have to get all dressed up to eat there. Just come as you are! You can enjoy our friendly Jamaican hospitality and Baton Rouge casualness while dining on our delicious Jamaican food in a laid back atmosphere.
The dining area is spacious enough to seat several small groups. The dinning room is unpretentious and bright with Jamaican decorations, though boasts of soft enough shades not to overwhelm while hung with artwork depicting the people and landscapes of Ronnie’s homeland.
And the flavors are just as bright, though Ronnie pointed out that ‘‘contrary to perception, Jamaican food isn’t necessarily all spicy. There are some mild dishes that are very flavorful.”
Ronnie’s Ribs also offers catering services for everything from backyard parties to wedding receptions. But the restaurant’s helpful staff, comfortable eating space, authentic tastes and attractive pricing will always keep customers coming back for their regular meals. |
